Ballard Barbell and Boxing Club
The Team

The people in
your corner.

Twenty-five years of boxing experience. A former D1 athlete. A Rock Steady certified Parkinson's coach. A deep bench of boxing and strength coaches who share one thing: they pay attention to your work.

Nathan, owner and head coach at Ballard Barbell and Boxing Club

Owner & Head Coach

Nathan

Nathan built Ballard Barbell & Boxing Club on a simple mission: bring real boxing training to Ballard with no gimmicks, just solid coaching. Twenty-five years in the sport, a background that runs through collegiate rugby, high school wrestling, karate, and jiu-jitsu, but boxing is the one that stuck.

He opened BBBC because too many people were getting shortchanged on quality coaching. The gym is built for anyone willing to put in the work, with a tough, welcoming culture and four kids often running around the place. When he's not coaching, he's training, watching fights, talking rugby, or out hunting.

If you train with Nathan, expect to be pushed, challenged, and to leave better than you came.

Coach Eli at Ballard Barbell and Boxing Club

Head Skills Coach

Eli

Eli started boxing over a decade ago after struggling to stay motivated training alone. He fell for it from the first class and has been a student of the sport ever since. What keeps him in it is the mental side, the skill work and strategy, and his classes are built to pass that along: the kind of engagement that keeps people coming back.

Coach Megan, Women's Program Head Coach at Ballard Barbell and Boxing Club

Women's Program Head Coach

Megan

Megan came up as a Division 1 athlete, so she knows what real training looks like: showing up, pushing limits, competing when it counts. She found boxing while teaching in public schools and got hooked on it as both a challenge and a way to shake off a hard day.

She's trained at BBBC for five years, and now she runs the women's program she wishes she'd had when she started. That means technique taught properly, intensity that meets you where you are, and a coach who's genuinely in your corner.

Her classes are built on real fundamentals and steady progression, with a focus on helping every woman feel like she belongs in the ring, whatever her starting point.

Credentials

  • Former Division 1 athlete
  • Five years training at BBBC
  • Former public school teacher
Adrienne, Parkinsons Program head coach at Ballard Barbell and Boxing Club

Head Parkinson's Coach

Adrienne

Adrienne loves getting folks started in fitness and breaking down the barriers to moving well. Over the past three years, she has focused her work on helping people diagnosed with Parkinson's disease improve their quality of life through boxing. As a certified personal trainer and Rock Steady Boxing coach, her experience creates a safe space for clients to challenge themselves every day.

Here's what she loves most: when her clients surprise themselves and achieve more than they thought they could, no matter how big or small the win. Her background in kettlebells, barbells, and group fitness shows up in classes that stay fun and dynamic.

A self-described introvert, when she's not coaching she's reading, cooking, or building her cinephile knowledge base. Casual sports fan with a serious soft spot for soccer.
